Ponder and jot about the book you just finished reading.

Rogue by Lyn Miller-Lachmann was the second Truman nominee that I've read for next year. It was a good book. The main character has Asperger's Syndrome and struggles in social situations. After an incident at school, she gets expelled and is being home-schooled. She desperately wants to make friends and her hopes rise when a boy her age and his little brother move in across the street. The new boys have family secrets, though, which threaten not only their friendship, but their lives. This was a great read--give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I recently finished The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau. It is on the list of Truman nominees for next year. It is the first book I've read from next year's list. It was good. It's a dystopian novel. If you like books like The Hunger Games, Life as We Knew It, or City of Ember--then you'll love this one. I liked it enough to read the sequel, but I want to read all of next year's nominees first.
